Not when you are at Sulphur Springs running the NASCAR attack.

The 2010 Sulphur Springs Wildcats are averaging 42.9 points a game which is even more points after 10 games than the record-setting state championship 2008 team had.

SS teams in basketball action

Basketball action continues for both the Sulphur Springs boys and girls high school teams.

The Wildcats are on the road scrimmaging at Van Alstyne and Whitesboro with the junior varsity and varsity in action beginning at 6 p.m. today according head coach Braughn Curtis.

SB, Saltillo top two places in Region III cross country

Area teams including Saltillo, Sulphur Bluff and North Hopkins Cross Country boys teams broke barriers at the Region III-1A meet.

Finishing as the district champions and Region III Champions was the Sulphur Bluff boys cross country team with 116 points, regional runner-up with 121 points was Saltillo, ahead of Lindsay with 132.

Senior Golf Winner

Sulphur Springs golfer Ann Sanders holds trophies she won in the 2010 Senior Stroke Play Championship played at Comanche Trace in Kerrville. There are three age divisions in this tournament, and Sanders has won all three divisions. This is the 21st year the Senior Championship has been played. The Women’s Texas Golf Association sponsors six tournaments each year open to most all levels of women golfers in the state of Texas.

C.H.E.S.S. basketball scores reported

The C.H.E.S.S. basketball teams won two recent games.

The Knights won 56-41 over Lighthouse Christian Academy.

Standouts were: Jake Darty, 24 points, 13 rebounds; Nick Gonzalez, 10 points; Gary George, 14 rebounds; Dustin South, 7 points.
