Sulphur Springs will play Henderson in a best-of-three baseball bi-district series starting today.
DENTON — Sulphur Springs athletes were unable to medal, but competed well at the Class 4A Region II track meet held at the University of North Texas Monday and Tuesday.
In Tuesday action, official results from UNT show that Megan Massey turned in a time of 6:09.15 to get 19th place in the 1,600-meter race.
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats are making their sixth consecutive baseball playoff berth under head coach Jerrod Hammack.
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats will be playing Henderson in the baseball playoffs for the second straight year.
The schedule includes - Game 1 at UT Tyler 7 p.m. Thursday, Sulphur Springs is the home team.
Friday — Game 2 at Longview High School 7 p.m. Sulphur Springs is the visiting team.
STEPHENVILLE — The Como-Pickton track teams had a good run that preliminarily ended at the Region 2-2A track meet in Stephenville.
Hunter Cain and Alondra Alonso kicked off the competing for Como-Pickton with each taking eight laps around Oscar Fraser track at Tarleton State University in the 3,200-meter run. Cain finished clocking 12:01.87 and Alonso was 13:22.87. Unfortunately, neither long distance runner was able to end in the top six places.
C-P Lady Eagle Kadi Baxter moved up from her fourth place in district to compete in discus Monday morning with a final throw of 87-01.5.
