Middle school boys first at Commerce track meet

COMMERCE  — The Sulphur Springs middle school boys won two first place divisions in the recent Commerce track meet.
The eighth grade boys were first overall with 199.5 points while the seventh grade boys took first, scoring 174.5 points.

‘Cats, Lady Cats ousted in playoffs

FORNEY — It was a rough night for Sulphur Springs soccer teams as they both were shutout Tuesday in playoff action at Forney City Bank Stadium.

Lady Raccoons 5, Lady Cats 0

The Lady Cats were defeated 5-0 by the Frisco Lady Raccoons in the first game of the playoff doubleheader. The second game went to McKinney as the Lions roared taking a 3-0 decision over the Wildcats.

Frisco showed why they were 17-3-1 on the year as they dominated scoring chances and played well together with several players who had been club teammates for years.
