PICKTON —There’s a quiet confidence seen when talking to national rodeo finalist Sadie Johnson.



2 Lady Cats on all-state softball team

Two Sulphur Springs players were named to the Collin Street Bakery/ Texas Sports Writers Association 4A All-State Softball Team released recently.

Jalie Eppars and Jamonica Hall were  honorable mention choices on the statewide team.


SSBBA to auction Deion Sanders autographed football

Sulphur Springs Boys Baseball Association President Israel Lewis, SSBBA board members Jeff Post holding a football autographed by MLB and NFL star Deion Sanders, Bill Logsdon and Cindy Lancaster will auction the football in the fall and all proceeds will go towards scholarship funds for boys that want to play ball but may not be able to afford registration fees.

‘Prime Time’ Sanders watches son in playoffs

“Prime Time” Deion Sanders was among the crowd Tuesday evening at the Dixie League State Coach Pitch Tournament.

His appearance at Coleman Park by the former professional baseball and football standout in Sulphur Springs wasn't  a celebrity pretense. Sanders attended as a Prosper Eagle fan and parent.

He was more Deion “Dad” Sanders, than “Prime Time.”
