The Como-Pickton Eagle football staff is hosting a football clinic Saturday in the secondary cafeteria.


Coach lives dream with Sulphur Springs Baseball Academy

The future could be now, or this summer for several budding baseball players.

The Sulphur Springs Baseball Academy is offering “Heat Baseball” which is a new organization to the Sulphur Springs area.

The project is the work of longtime coach Mike Rave. Rave participated in the Arizona Baseball Academy in Phoenix with players participating in 100 games a year.


Lara, Sanchez spark Lady Cats’ win

The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats kicked up their heels scoring a 6-1 home win Tuesday over Denison at Gerald Prim Stadium.

The home crowd for the non-district game got to see plenty of scoring. Five goals were tallied in the first half with each varsity team just managing one goal each in the second half.

Lucy Lara and Diana Sanchez scored three goals each for Sulphur Springs. Sanchez had three assists and Lara added two.

The Lady Cats were on the attack all night with their quickness and team play too much for Denison.

Sulphur Springs had 22 shots, six on goal. Denison had nine shots, five on goal.


Wildcats on winning team at Emfinger Bowl game

Sulphur Springs football standouts Mason Y’Barbo, pictured left, offensive lineman and Kedrick Dial, right, (18) defensive tackle were on the winning team at the recent Max Emfinger All-American bowl held in Round Rock under chilly conditions Saturday.
