Wildcats take No. 4 state ranking, Lobos fall

The power and depth of District 13-4A continues to leave ripples statewide in football circles.

Sulphur Springs bolted from No. 6  to No. 4 in the state Associated Press Texas High School football play in the Class 4A division.

Sulphur Springs, the defending Class 4A Division II champions, are 4-0 for the year. The Wildcats are coming off a 32-13 road win over Mesquite Poteet at Mesquite Memorial Stadium.


SS Athletic events


The Lady Cats will host Athens tonight in Sulphur Springs High School Gym.

The varsity, JV and freshmen are slated to play beginning at 5 p.m.

Friday the Lady Cats will host Pine Tree in district play.


Tarry Davison fires 726 series in Sunday night action

Tarry Davison came to Sunday Night Mixed league action ready to compete shooting a 726 series for three games.
Davison started the night with 209 and followed with games of 238 and 279. Davison’s last game was just one strike away from the coveted perfect game. Davison averaged 242 for the night and led his team to win two games.


Sulphur Bluff wins volleyball matches

The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears won recent junior high volleyball matches over Roxton.

The A team won 25-7, 25-13 to advance their record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in district.

Katelyn McDonald had 16 points off serves while Shelbi Hurley got 10 and Judy Brown added five.
