Wilson tops Classic Lanes' bowlers with 776

Shayne Wilson grabbed a pair of 700s this week, leading all of the center’s bowlers with a 776. Steve Edwards followed Shayne with a 774, followed by Justin Haggerty at 759, Jason Keller at 740, Allan Hague at 738 and 734, D.J. Kast at 728, Bruce Michaelson at 714, James Allen at 710, and Colby Pullen 709. Amy Sharp again led the ladies, this time posting a 606.

Lady Cats take win in Greenville, 46-37

GREENVILLE – The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats keep doing things this year that haven’t been seen around these parts in a while – winning district basketball games.


Lions whip Wildcats, 67-45

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats fell to 0-3 in district play with a 67-45 home loss Friday at the hands of 13-4A rival Greenville.

The Lions were the kings of the basketball court as they had three players in double figures with the scoring led by Oshay Carter with 16 points and seven rebounds. The team took advantage of 25 turnovers by Sulphur Springs.


C-P Eagles varsity hoop squads nab up heated home court wins

COMO — Como-Pickton varsity teams took some very emotionally spirited wins from the visiting Lone Oak teams Friday night.

Como-Pickton Lady Eagles 37, Lone Oak Lady Buffs 33

It was one of those games that remained undecided until the final minutes of the final quarter for the Lady Eagles and Lady Buffs.
