Let it snow! Let it snow! Wow, was Sunday not beautiful. I have heard many comments about Sunday but most people enjoyed the snow. I heard someone even say that is the way for it to snow. Pretty but melts before it made conditions bad for man, travel, and animals. I’ll take it.

Thanks to Jennifer Caudle for reminding me of the youth of Brashear Baptist Church’s fundraiser. They are having a Chili and Stew dinner and auction on Saturday night. Everything kicks off around 5:30 p.m. but come early and visit with everyone. Hope to see you there.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the Buckholt family on their loss of Rosemary Buckholt, the daughter of Lurline Buckholt and the late Kenneth Buckholt. She will be missed. She enjoyed working with children.

Mrs. Opal Clapp called and visited some last week. Opal also let me know about Rosemary Buckholt’s passing. She resides in an assisted living in Irving. She keeps up with what is going on in Brashear. She left Brashear in the 40s, but isn’t it nice she likes to keep up with what is going on.

In my ramblings around Brashear, I visited the Bochita store for a birthday gift. Wow, was I surprised that they were having a clearance sale. There is also a website for you to see what all she has to offer, Bochita.com. I visited with Linda Deas, the owner, and found out she loves what she is doing. She is very active and keeps up with the goings on for trail rides in our area. I knew she used to ride in the Sheriff’s posse and asked her if she was still involved. She said that she rides with the Mounted Police. She mentioned that there was a Mounted Police school coming up in Winnsboro from April 10–13. Call 903-582-2266. Linda can give you more information

She also updated me on some major events coming up. The Lone Oak Cowboy Church, Bull Creek Cowboy Church, is having an Extreme Cowboy Race on Saturday, March 27, at a local arena. Cross Country Cowboy Church will be having one too on March 28th at their arena on Hwy. 19.

I would like to wish my neighbor, Donna Moore, a belated birthday on March 22. Donna I hope your birthday was a good one. Thanks to your daughter in law for calling and giving me a heads up. Happy birthday to Colton Burns, 3/24; Paula Teague, 3/25; Cody Jennings and Dale Petty, 3/26. Remember to call and give me help with these. I will mention all birthdays and anniversaries.

Tom and I are loving this Brashear weather. Hope you are too. Take care and make someone’s day special today. Smile and let them know that you care about them. Until next week, May God Bless you and yours. Remember all of you others who like to keep up with news call 903-612-8806; email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
