Sunshine! Sunshine! Sunshine! Yes, the sun is shining in Brashear. Let’s hope it continues for the rest of the week. It is time to get the garden planted. Tom is going to get more onions, cabbage and greens planted this week.
I called around this morning and found out the Brashear Baptist Church is having a Youth Fundraiser on March 27 at the Family Life Center There will be chili, stew, and an auction at 5 p.m. to benefit their summer camp project, which will be in Georgia this year. So please put this on your calendar to attend to support our youth.
sI hope everyone noticed in the paper this past weekend how many of our area youth participated in the NETLA. It was awesome to see the numbers and how hard the students had worked. The sale was a great.
Has anyone else noticed the geese heading north lately? I hope that means spring is fast approaching. The weather forecasters have been talking about this being a winter for the record books. Cold, rain and snow set records this winter. Now I hope we just dry out some. My allergies have been acting up. It has to be mold. Ha!
Birthdays for this next week are Gene George, March 8; and a very special birthday wish goes out to my friend Sonny Stewart on March 5. I would like everyone to send up special prayers for healing for Janet, who runs our Brashear store. Take care and keep the prayers going for the people in Haiti and Chile. Until next week, as the old TV show used to say, “same phone number, 903-612-8806; same email, ddyoung@cawb.” May God bless you and yours.
