Wasn’t the snow just beautiful? During the 58 years of my life, I have never seen that much snow. I was in awe of God’s majesty. Just beautiful! Don’t get me wrong, it caused some problems for others. But it was still beautiful.
This week Jerry Swelling called me to let me know about his great honor, and I quote:
“Swelling registered Angus farm owned by Jerry and Claire Swelling of Brashear consigned two of the highest selling bulls of their age group at the Mid-Texas Angus Association in Groesbeck on Feb. 13. The sell, produced by Mid-Texas Angus Association for registered Angus owners, was managed by Schacher Auction Services of Fort Worth. www.Mid-TexasAngus.com”
Congratulations to the Swellings on this great accomplishment.
How many of you take the time to help out a neighbor? Well, we had several people stop by on Tuesday and offer to help Tom with a problem. We want to thank Rodney, Marie, the commissioner and the others for taking the time to stop and help out.
“Snow on the ground for three days” is an old saying that says next that there will be more snow. How many of you noticed it snowing on Sunday? It was just a few flurries, but it proved to me that some of our old sayings can come true.
Mud is a very big problem right now. Many area farmers are having a hard time getting to their hay to feed their stock. Have seen some ingenious methods being used, but one dates back a ways — feeding the stock by hand seems to be one of the ways most of us have to feed.
“One Month to Live” is going well. Today’s lesson is “Finding Your Direction.” I hope that all of us have found out where we are headed in life. For some of us, it has taken a long time. “Learn humbly” and you will find your place.
Looking for some suggestions on how to get the garden ready. It seems that our garden will be a little late this year.
Last week’s “Woman of the Year” winner, Barbara Law, was such a right choice. If you know Barbara, she is the most gracious lady. She is always there when you need help or a friend. Congratulations, Barbara.
Happy birthday to Brenda Baxter, Valorie Frazier and Floyd Sturdevant, 2/12; Jim Bishop, 2/14; and William Baxter, 2/18.
