The holiday season is at full throttle at the Young’s. I was in the midst of wrapping and remembered that I had not done the Brashear News. Forgive me for I was engrossed in getting

everything wrapped. I also want to let family, friends and acquaintances know that I am going to be late getting Christmas cards out. Looks like I will call them New Year’s cards. I want to add pictures of the family and I will have them all together sometime during the upcoming holidays. Forgive me.

Just a little note to let everyone know that shopping at Home, Sulphur Springs, has turned into an enjoyable occasion. The people in the stores are so helpful and will even climb up on a high ladder to check on something for you. Thanks Peggy! They were all so helpful that I wondered why I wasted the gas to go into Rockwall to shop. Just a little more variety I think. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Target or something along that line opened up here? Just a thought.

Beverly Haygood, our postmistress, emailed me to let me know that Jamie and Jeffery, her two beautiful children, ran in the White Rock Marathon. Beverly and her husband were there to cheer them on. Congratulations. I sure admire anyone who trains and runs in a marathon. As a side note if you notice the ads on television, you should have gotten to the Post Office and mailed your Christmas packages to help guarantee a Christmas Eve delivery date.

Driving around in Brashear, I noticed that County Road 1115 has undergone a transformation. It sure looks good. Is there anything going there to replace the houses that were torn down? Well if anyone needs anything torn down, just let Tom know. He seems to enjoy taking down houses and barns.

We have had enough rain for a while. I hope that our ditches can dry out so that we can get them mowed.

Sulphur Springs seems to be going through some business changes lately. It seems that every time I make it to town there is one closed and a new one opened. I hope this is a positive sign that the economy is getting better locally.

Happy birthday to C.M. Fowler, Victoria Lytle, 12/17; Donna McGraw and Lavanna Wilcox, 12/20; Nathan George, 12/21; Wayne Bland, Dawn Petrea, 12/22; and Traci George, 12/23.

I hope everyone has a chance to go and see some of the Live Nativity exhibits around town. I heard this morning that Central Baptist Church has one. We are going to Reno to the Cowboy Church there to see their Nativity Show. We went last year and thoroughly enjoyed. You ride in a wagon around their grounds and have a live reenactment of the birth of Christ. They will also be serving hot chocolate and cookies.

Running down, must remember that there are a lot of people to thank for my many blessings. I hope that all of you will remember to thank others and help out some of those who are less fortunate than you are during this season. Take care and until next week, remember to contact me at 903-612-8806; This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; or just stop on by for a visit. I might even be able to make some hot chocolate or spiced tea.
