A seminar for small business interests and a session in the Leadership Series will be offered as part of the continuing education schedule at the Paris Junior College-Sulphur Springs Center during December, according to Linda Bennett, director of the higher education center.
“How to Start Your Own Business” will meet from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11. This free seminar is for anyone who has ever dreamed of owning a business. Topics to be covered include legal requirements, feasibility studies, forms of business ownership and their advantages and disadvantages, the business plan, finding the money, what lenders want to know, SBA loans and other loan sources.
A course in leadership skills, “Developing Others,” is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18. This course provides leaders, coaches and mentors with the necessary skills and a practical process to develop talent. It focuses on a leader's critical role before, during and after a development plan. The course is another part of the Leadership Series offered through PJC.

Paris Junior College campuses will close for Christmas break on Dec. 21. Offices will re-open on Jan. 4.
