Mother Nature has been smiling on us this past week. The weather is phenomenal. If you are unhappy with the weather, maybe you had better look into moving. You are able to see God's majesty in the sky, clouds, and the brilliant colors of the leaves.

Do not forget the Brashear Community Center Benefit on Saturday, Nov. 14. There will be stew and all the trimmings. Serving is beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be drawing for a quilt; all tickets will be a dollar.

Brashear Baptist Church will be presenting their Christmas music on the first Sunday of December with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner after the service.

I have recently been remembering that the house that burned in Brashear last fall had a ghost. I wondered what happens to a ghost when the house is no longer there. I know there are plans in the works to build a new house on the site of the old one. Does anyone out there have an idea? Does anyone have a ghost story of their own?

We had several calls about the sweet potatoes. I was so sorry that we did not have enough for everyone who called. Mrs. Jackson from over Miller Grove way came by and got some. I hope they are enjoying them.

Time is going by so fast. Christmas will be here before you know. Please take the time to do something nice for someone or some family during this time. With the economy so bad, there are a lot of people who could use some assistance.

Take care and remember that “we are all here on earth for such a short time, take time to save part of it for our descendants.” Remember to call me with news at 903-612-8806; e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
