So I have found a new obsession. Texting. I have to admit I have never had much use for it but when I upgraded to my new phone--the LG enV2--with a full keyboard I was hooked. It is a convenient tool but dangerous in its own right as well.
With my profession, I can reach beyond the computer email, phone, or fax without it being a complete disruption to another's schedule. So the keyboard is small and it isn't quite as easy as I thought it would be but it beats the alternative number pad typing. I feel like I have had to do a reverse way of thinking when it comes to typing. Yes, I am hunting and pecking. I am not a gamer so typing with my thumbs...I would be all thumbs!
And I love the screen and the clarity of the camera phone.
So I mentioned it was dangerous. In so many ways. It can be time consuming and distracting. I myself have heard of many near and sometimes fatal automobile accidents as a result of texting behind the wheel. Now, I do know that my new phone has a voice command function. Found this out when I sat on it and it automatically dialed my dad, and it was set to a locked position. (I'm sure he got an earful of me telling the kids to buckle their seatbelts etc. before I realized he was on the other end.)
Haven't really experimented with it much, but I am still learning all the ropes. Ten years ago, if you would have told me that today I would be talking by typing words over the phone I would have given the crazy look. But not anymore...LOL.
Sorry not sharing my cel phone number... :-)
