Big Names in town this Friday and Saturday for Texas Heritage National Bank PBR Challenge at Civic Center

The weekend festivities are expected to feature Professional Bull Riders champ Guilherme Marchi, PBR champions Ednei Caminhas and Mike Lee; Championship Bull Riding champions Clayton Baethge and Bonner Bolton; and International Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association champs Cord McCoy and Austin Meier.

More than half the bull riders in the field are in the top 40 of the standings, meaning they’re part of the association’s televised premier tour, the Built Ford Tough Series. You can certainly expect tons of excitement, so make plans to be there!

3rd Annual Hot August Night BBQ Cook-Off: Support your Local Volunteer Fire Dept. This Saturday

Don’t miss this  afternoon of family fun! Vendor booths will be set up at noon, with concerts beginning at 2 p..mm and the barbecue being served at 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit our local volunteer fire departments. Wristbands for the event can be pre-purchased at STAR Country Radio, any of your local volunteer Fire departments, or the Civic Center for $10 for adults; kids 6-10 are $7;  and kids 5 and under are FREE!


HCMH celebrating 60 Years and will host a Reception Thursday, Sept. 3. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.!

 

Over 111 stew sites selected for the 2009 World Champion Hopkins County Stew Contest

Don’t forget, the stew contest is Saturday, September 19th and we will begin serving stew at 11 a.m. in Buford Park! If you have any questions, please give us a call at the Chamber at 903-885-6515!

Fall Festival, Sept. 12th-19th

As you are marking your calendars, mark off the entire third week in September for the Fall Festival! This year the Fall Festival will be introducing several new events to compliment the Arts & Crafts Show, Quilt Show, Business Expo, Street Dance, Petting Zoo and Carnival. They have tons and tons of activities for the whole family!
