Main Street Farmers’ Market cracked the top 65 in the nation on Friday when the 185th vote came in sometime in the evening (we think; it could have been Saturday morning, but we’ll take it) in the “Love Your Farmers’ Market” contest.

That makes the Sulphur Springs market number 62 on the overall list of U.S. farmers markets. It stays fourth in Texas, as well, am probably won’t get any higher than that. Third place in the Lone Star State is held by the Dallas Farmers Market with 243 votes, which may be too much for supporters of the Main Street market to overcome. But you never know.

Like the current mayor of Sulphur Springs, Gary Spraggins (who recently cast his vote in the contest), did in his first election campaign, we’d like to recommend you vote early and often. Alas, there’s only one vote per person allowed.
