The rain clouds parted allowing just enough time for me to squeeze in some of my multi-tasking side work. Yes, I am a wife, mom, writer, and on many occasions photographer.
On Tuesday, a friend of mine and bride-to-be decided to make the 300 mile roundtrip to Sulphur Springs. Honoring me, the photographer, and the city of Sulphur Springs with the opportunity to serve as the lovely backdrop for her bridal portraits.
So we quickly (trying to avoid feeding the mosquitoes) snapped a few in the backyard. Then we moved one of the nicest streets in Sulphur Springs-the newly renovated Main Street. The exposed brick walls and climbing trumpet vines make a nice natural setting for photography.
I won't go into details how we got from my house to Main Street because it was quite an endeavor. When we got there I discovered the rain was going to make my job difficult. So we ended up setting up close to the storefronts on Main Street.
To our surprize, we drew many onlookers. In fact one man, stopped his dually truck in the middle of (the rather narrow) Main Street to shout out his admirations! Another man, circled the block to come back and honked! And several ladies "oooh, awwed," at my subject, all adorned in white.
So I would like to personally thank those that made my friend, the bride, feel so welcome to our town. It put a smile on her face, making her truly earn the glow of a bride.
There really is something good here...
