COMMERCE, Texas -- The University Playhouse at Texas A&M University-Commerce announces its summer production, "The Odd Couple."

The Playhouse will present Neil Simon's new version of "The Odd Couple" at the end of July and first of August.

       Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, July 30-31, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 8 p.m.

Thursday and Friday, Aug. 6-7, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.

In Simon's new version, the odd pair Oscar and Felix become Olive and Florence.

The dialogue is smart, the characters are kooky, and the play is hilarious.

This play takes a look at friendship and how, through friendship, we often tolerate the eccentricities and foibles of those closest to us. Audiences can expect funny verbal jabs, idiosyncratic behaviors, and all-in-all out cat fights.
