Another week in paradise — we are so blessed to live in our small community! I heard someone mention that their grandchildren were so amazed how their grandparents keep saying “hello” and visiting with so many people. Only in Hopkins County can we see so many friendly faces and feel like we are home.
The parade was a huge success with my grandchildren. They loved all of the noise, sparkle and candy. Ha! Hope all of you got out last weekend to experience some of the events that go along with Dairy Festival Week.
Our own grand marshals, the Koons, had all of their boys in the truck with them on Saturday. You guys did a great job. Congratulations again.
Vacation Bible School is in full swing at Brashear Baptist.
We want to continue to send up our prayers for the Gaffords. Mary Jo Rogers has been working hard to help them out during this difficult time.
Well, summertime has arrived. The weatherman predicts an even hotter next week. Is the rain over? Hope you all got your hay cut. Tom is working hard to get all of our hay cut. He is looking for someone to cut on the shares on 60-plus acres of bahia.
Garden is doing well. Corn is close to being ready, and the tomatoes are plentiful, just not ripe yet. Made some squash relish this week. Hope you are all experiencing the bounty of your own gardens.
Well until next week take care and be blessed. The Lord is good.
