NH girls blank Yantis

    BIRTHRIGHT — The Lady Panthers got a shutout win Tuesday afternoon against rival Yantis as the North Hopkins girls celebrated Senior Night with a day game.


    The Lady Panthers scored the 15-0 with pitcher Savannah Nix claiming the win over the Lady Owls. Nix recorded two strikeouts as she kept Yantis off balance and off the bases the entire game.
    Standouts for North Hopkins include - Aliyah Snyder who was 3-for-3 with three runs scored; designated hitter Kaitlyn Harness pounded out three hits, scoring twice; Nix helped her own cause with three hits, scoring two runs.
    Seniors Allyah French and Sheyenne Mitchell were honored in pre-game ceremonies according to coach Mike Davenport.
    The Lady Panthers also won two other recent district games. The squad beat Sulphur Bluff, 11-1 on the road. Kaitlyn Harness had nine strikeouts while Hannah White and French ripped three hits each.
    North Hopkins won 17-7 against Saltillo in another recent game. Nix got the pitching win. Snyder and French had three hits each and White had two hits, walked twice and scored twice.
