She may still face charges in his death
A Titus County jury last week found Samantha Nicole Wohlford guilty of aggravated kidnapping in the 2015 abduction and murder of her husband, Earnest Lee Ibarra.
The jury returned the verdict after hearing two and a half days of testimony.
The same jury then sentenced 27-year-old Wohlford to 50 years in prison with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Wohlford has been indicted on murder charges in Camp County and could still face a trial there for her alleged role in Ibarra’s murder.
Three of Wohlford’s accomplices were previously sentenced in Titus County for aggravated kidnapping. The three were also convicted of Ibarra’s subsequent murder that took place in Camp County.
In February 2015, Titus County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an alleged home invasion and abduction, which took place on County Road 2630, in the southwest portion of Titus County.
Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram and his investigators found Wohlford’s account of the alleged offense to be suspicious as the intense investigation was underway.
Ultimately, the Sheriff and investigators learned the location of Ibarra’s body and also the location of a weapon believed to have been used in the crime.
