Baylor slugs way to 14-1 win over Prairie View

WACO, Texas (AP) — Shaver Hansen homered for his third consecutive game and Baylor scored 11 runs in the first inning on its way to a 14-1 win over Prairie View on Wednesday.

Hansen sent a two-run homer, his eighth of the season, to left center early in the first inning. He also scored a run that inning off a single by Adam Hornung. Dan Evatt also had three RBIs on a double and a single and scored one run in the inning.

Baylor (18-7) sent 14 batters to the plate to knock out Prairie View starter Terry Salter (2-4) in the first inning. George McDonald drove in the lone run in the fifth inning for the Panthers (15-14) before the game ended after seven innings.

Jon Ringenberg (1-0) gave up no runs in three innings for the win. Salter recorded two outs in the Prairie View loss.
