Cats, other teams in playoffs

    The Sulphur Springs Wildcats and several other basketball teams are in the hoop playoffs.

    The Wildcats, 25-6 overall, tied a school record for win as they ended district play with a 54-45 win at Hallsville.
    Sulphur Springs will take on North Forney (17-11) at Lindale High School in the bi-district boys playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
    The Saltillo girls are also in the playoffs. The district winning Lady Lions got a first round bye and will face Ector in the area playoffs Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at North Lamar High School in Paris.
    Also on Friday, the Lady Hornets of Miller Grove will take on Dodd City at 6:30 p.m. at Paris Chisum.
    The Saltillo boys finished first in district and will be in the playoffs at a time and date to be determined. The championYantis boys are also awaiting a foe Feb. 24.
    The Bears will play a warm-up game Friday at Mount Pleasant against CHAAMP. The bi-district game for Sulphur Bluff is Tuesday, Feb. 21 vs. Fruitvale in Cumby at 6;30 p.m.
    “We got excellent leadership from Jaden Goldsmith. On the  floor Brennan Seymore has been a facilitator on offense for us all years. Defensivley Isaac Foley brings intensity that is not matched,” said Blake Hill, Sulphur Bluff coach.
