Kevin Horton and Jessica Horton pounded their opponents during Tuesday’s Mixed Doubles league.

The pair shot a combined 1,104 scratch series, with Kevin charting games of 199 and 233.  It was Jessica’s efforts, however, that placed the team in a two way tie for the most overall wins, with a 30 and 18 record for the 2014 Summer session.
Jessica’s statistics were the highlight of the evening, with the newcomer rolling games of 179, 152 and 177 to lead her team to take all four points from the match.  Jessica completed the event 88 pins above her average for series, after posting her first career 500 scratch series.  Jessica’s 508 set also bumped her team, Subway’s Meatballs, into third place for the second half of Tuesday’s summer season.  Congratulations Jessica and we look forward to many more high scores from you in the upcoming 2014-2015 Fall leagues.
Other notable scores for the week ending August 21, 2014 include by league:

Sunday Night Mixed
Kelly Shields continued his dominance again this week nabbing the men’s high scratch series, with a 740 effort on lanes three and four.  Shields overwhelmingly took the men’s high average for the league, after tossing games of 278, 246 and 216, completing the night with a 217.06 individual average.
Tarry Davison just missed the 700 club Sunday night, shooting a respectable 695 three game scratch set.  Davison, fiercely competing for the last remaining spot in the end of the season championship roll off, fired games of 246, 247 and 202 to help his team claim all four available points for the evening.
Davison’s teammate, Shannon Hague, clinched the women’s high scratch set of the night with her 677 scratch performance, while bowling on lanes one and two.  Hague was well above her 180 individual average each game, recording scores of 239, 215 and 223 to end the session an astounding 137 pins above her average for series.

Monday Night Sport
Shayne Wilson put on a strong showing for the last week of competition in the Monday Night Sport league, rolling a 581 three game scratch set, enough to garner the men’s high set of the evening.  Wilson bowled scores of 200 and 209 on his 188 individual average, helping his team take four points and place seventh overall in the league.
David Strain finished just behind Wilson with a solid 555 scratch series.  Strain, who has been on a hot streak as of late, was above his 169 individual average all evening with scores of 192, 191 and 172.
Allan Hague also posted a 555 scratch series, while bowling on lanes one and two.  Hague, who was competing for the third and final spot in the tournament of champions to be held next Monday night, booked scores of 175, 210 and 170 on his 165 individual average.  Hague’s valiant effort was enough to capture only one win, thus missing the tournament of champions by merely one point.

Tuesday Mixed Doubles
Carrie Shields and Mike Gilliland blew away their opponents Tuesday night with a combined 1081 scratch series.  Shields shot scores of 167, 187 and 152 to complete the evening with a solid 506 scratch set, third high in the women’s division for the Tuesday’s bout.
Gilliland started the nigh slow but was able to find a mark in the second game posting 203 for his efforts and ended with a 200 for the third game to help the duo take all four points available for the session.

Thursday Men’s Trio

Jason Keller finished Thursday night with the men’s second high scratch series, booking an 854 set, while competing on lanes three and four.  Keller was consistent at the beginning of the session, bowling games of 225 and 227 and finished with scores of 214 and 188 to help his team finish the second half of the summer season in sole possession of third place in the team standings.
Roger Honea brought his “A” game this past week, shooting a notable 837 four game scratch series.  Honea, who has struggled a bit lately, bagged games of 198, 190 and an incredible 268 to cap off the night 97 pins above his average for series.
