As the result of an investigation that began more than a week ago, Special Crimes Unit investigators arrested three people and seized a quantity of methamphetamine last week, according to SCU investigator Mark Estes.
Those arrested included Charles Minick, 30, of Sulphur Springs, Christina Marie Loudenslager, 27, of Sulphur Springs and Taylor Maxlynn Fletcher, 24, of Point.
“Charles Lee Minick evaded officers on a white sport bike,” Estes said. “Minick was arrested last Thursday on a warrant for evading with a vehicle, a third-degree felony.”
Following that arrest and using information from confidential informants, Estes said officers were able to go back to Minick's residence in the 800 block of Brinker Street and locate almost four grams of methamphetamine and a handgun. Minick's girlfriend was arrested at that time.
“She ended up giving information, along with Minick, and we were able to do a 'buy-bust' at the Pilot Travel Truck Center,” the investigator said. “This netted approximately 11.5 grams of methamphetamine.”
The Special Crimes Unit seized $1,800 in currency, a white sport bike and a 2011 Cadillac Escalade during the “buy-bust.”
“This has been a lengthy investigation, stemming back to previous months,” Estes said. “During the 'buy-bust' we ended up getting the currency, the Escalade as well as the motorcycle and handgun.”
