Barbara Sue Bryan Arterberry
Funeral services for Barbara Sue Bryan Arterberry will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy. The Rev. Bill Sessom will officiate. Pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Study Group.
Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Savoy.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Sue was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Cumby to Charles Herman and Mary C. Edmondson Bryan. They preceded her in death.
She died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
Sue married Max Edgar Arterberry Oct. 9, 1963, in Garland, Texas. He survives.
Max and Sue moved to Savoy in 1971 where they were instrumental in the development of the Savoy Youth Baseball Program.
Sue was baptized in the Church of Christ at the City Park Lake in Sulphur Springs as a youth. She was a long time employee of Dixie Pharmacy in Sherman and Bonham Family Drug in Bonham.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Bill and Guy Bryan and sisters Laverne Jared and Juanita Taylor.
Sue is also survived by daughter Cindy Holland and husband, Larry, of Savoy; son Michael Steele and wife, Katrina, of Grand Prairie; granddaughter Samantha Garrison and husband, Josh, of Savoy; great-grandsons Colton and Kaden Kumler of Savoy; many nephews and nieces and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sue's name to Sunnyside Cemetery c/o Bill Bibby, Savoy, Texas 75479.
