Police were investigating an aggravated robbery reported to have occurred at a Jefferson Street residence early Wednesday morning.
Officers were dispatched at about 2 a.m. Wednesday to Jefferson Street.
Upon arrival, they were told two men with faces partially obscured by hooded type masks knocked on the apartment door, and when the male resident answered it, they entered the apartment. One man reportedly had a gun in his hand. The intruders reportedly demanded money.
When told by the man in the apartment that he didn’t have any money, the pair reportedly began looking around.
A woman walked from the back of the apartment, saw the pair and yelled, calling out for them to leave.
One of the men hit the resident on the chin as he left the apartment, leaving scratches. The pair reportedly ran down the street, where a third person was seen running with them in the shadows to a car, which they left in.
