Jessie Faye Walker
Jessie Faye Walker of Sulphur Springs went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born to Ada Anarton Kemp and Claude Benton Kemp on Aug. 15, 1920. They preceded her in death.
She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1935.
On Dec. 16, 1939, she married Melvin Sterling Ishmael. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1965.
She married James Orville Walker Sr. on Sept. 18, 1972 in Hugo, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1996.
She was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs.
Jessie Faye was preceded in death by her children, Larry Melvin Ishmael, Jerry Ben Ishmael and Sandra Ishmael Pickett.
She is survived by her stepchildren, J.O. “Buddy” Walker Jr. and wife, Peggy, Pat Looney and husband, Larry, and Joy Wilson and husband, Jim; grandchildren Cris Hughes, Amber Cody and husband, Stuart, Jarred Pickett and wife, Amanda, Todd Hughes and wife, Kathy, of Sulphur Springs, Joie Hartel and husband, Robert, of Austin, Jeffery Pickett of Wichita Falls, Leah Ann Ishmael, Grant Looney of Cleburne, Lance Looney and wife, Sheri, of Sulphur Springs, Key Walker and wife, Holly, of Greenville and Jay Porterfield and wife, Amber, of Murphy; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, R.D. Kemp and a granddaughter, Kelly Walker Jones.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Shirley Cemetery.
