Sulphur Springs students will have four opportunities over the next year to take exams for advancement or recovery of credits.
“We are required by state law to set four dates and registration 30 days prior to the test. If there’s a conflict, we’ll look at scheduling another date. These are tests offered for remediation and advancement purposes,” Sulphur Springs Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Randy Reed told school trustees during their regular June board meeting.
Students planning to take the tests to make up a failed class must score a 70 or higher. In order for students to receive credit for a class they’ve had no prior instruction in, they must score a 90 or higher on the test.
The first credit by exam test date will be Wednesday, Aug. 6. In order to take the test, students must register by July 7.
Students must register by Nov. 5 to take the CBE on Dec. 3. For March 4 CBEs, they must register by Feb. 2. The registration deadline is May 11 for the June 10, 2015 CBE.
