Several Sulphur Springs teams are involved in upcoming summer league action.
Coleman Park will host games Friday through Sunday in the district boys baseball competition for coach pitch 8U.
Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children.
The Sulphur Springs Nationals 8U is coached by Leslie Rawson, the American 8U is coached by Brent Chaney. Play begins Friday with the Sulphur Springs National vs. Fannin County on Field 4 at 6 p.m. The Sulphur Springs Americans vs. Paris Americans on Field 4 at 8 p.m. The top teams advance to state.
A district tournament will also be held at Coleman Park, June 27-29. Admission will be $4 for adults, $1 for children.
Brackets are not available at this time.
District play for T-ball will begin Friday in Broken Bow, Okla. with two Sulphur Springs teams involved. The Nationals, coached by Cody Fail along with the Americans, coached by Zach Burney, will be competing.
If the local teams win they will play in the state tournament in Lindale, starting July 5.
Also, the 14U Dixie Boys get a bye to state and will play July 4 in Center. The team is coached by Wes Armstrong. The 13U team team is coached by Israel Lewis.
Other teams could possibly be involved in state tournament play depending on upcoming games.
In girls softball action - Sulphur Springs has three teams which will play in the Dixie Sweetees North State Tournament in Bullard.
Opening games include: Hopkins County No. 2 team playing Saturday at 9 a.m. against Lindale.
Hopkins County No. 1 plays Arp at 10:30 a.m. also on Saturday.
The Hopkins County No. 3 eam plays Saturday at noon against Red River.
