Rudy Helmuth, handler for the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales, takes two of his charges and their mascot, Clyde the dalmation, out for a brief spin around the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center grounds Tuesday morning. The team just finished a visit in Jonesboro, Ark., and plan to be here until Sunday. They “hitch” eight horses, but travel with 10, just in case one of the group is having a bad day. The team, in all its regalia, will be featured in the Hopkins County Dairy Festival Parade Saturday. This team ranges in age from five to 10 years, weighs around 2,000 pounds each and stands 18-19 hands tall. Helmuth invites the public to the stalls at the Civic Center to visit the horses and Clyde. They will also be on display for a meet-and-greet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday on Davis Street by Muddy Jake’s.
