Harper, Forshee top Sulphur Bluff 8th graders

Sulphur Bluff Independent School District has announced Sarah Harper and Joseph Forshee as the top eighth graders this year.

Sarah Harper, the daughter of Liz and Nathan Crouch and Jaime and Amy Harper, was named valedictorian of the Sulphur Bluff eighth grade class after achieving a 4.72857 grade point average.

She has participated in volleyball, basketball and softball.

Harper placed third in the Hopkins County Historical Society Art Fair. In UIL, she placed first in  modern oratory and oral reading, as well as second in art and fourth in math.

Harper’s favorite subjects are reading and writing.

She likes writing, reading, theater, art, travel and museums.

Joseph Forshee, son of Mandy Adams and Bryan Forshee, was named the salutatorian of the eighth grade class at Sulphur Bluff, after earning a  4.40714 GPA.

Forshee’s favorite subjects are math, athletics and social studies.

He likes sports, hunting and fishing.
