Babb is a member of the Northeast Texas-Southeastern Oklahoma Trails Council’s Troop 69, which is chartered by the church.
Babb, 18, is the son of Donald and Cathleen Babb of Sulphur Springs.
As part of the requirements in earning the Eagle Scout rank, Babb planned, organized, supervised and helped to installed a fountain at St. Williams Catholic Church in Greenville for his service project.
In addition, Babb has earned 35 merit badges. Only 21 merit badges, including 13 specified merit badges, are necessary as a part of earning the rank are necessary as a part of earning the Eagle Scout rank.
Other requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout, include being active in his home troop for at least six months after achieving the rank of Life Scout; serving in one or more of specified leadership roles during that time; and successfully complete an Eagle Scout board of review.
The candidate must demonstrate that he lives by the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law in his daily life. References from individuals who know the Scout personally and are willing to provide recommendations are required.
All requirements, except the board of review, must be completed before the Scout’s 18th birthday.
