SSMS teams do well in 7-on-7 tournament

    PARIS — Sulphur Springs teams won the majority of games played Saturday in junior high tournament competition.
    The Sulphur Springs eighth grade blue went 3-1.

    SSMS coach Jeremy Scroggins listed offensive standouts as Dedric Godbolt, Ryan Humphries, Tyrese Pryor, Brady Crouse, Cason Goodson and Pacen Edwards with standouts on the defense, Sebastian Adams, Jaxon Reneau and Tiesan Goodson.
     The eighth grade gold team was winless in four games. Standouts on offense were:  Tyler Armstrong, Jamal Hobson and Kyle Alexander; defensive standouts: Jonathan Alvarez, Bryson Lynn andVincent Morales.
     Sulphur Springs seventh grade teams won seven of eight games played.
    Going undefeated was the seventh grade blue team with a 4-0 record. Leading the way on offense were:  D'Corian Young, Dawson Draper, Jase Thompson, Austin Dodd, Cason Churchman, DQ Pitts and Connor Burgin; defensive standouts: Jase Thompson, Jose Rodriguez and Bryce McQueen.
     The seventh grade gold team went 3-1.
    Top players were: Blaine Hohenberger, Jadon Miles, Christian Clayton, Andrew Escobar and Carter Lewis; defensive standouts: Kaleb Myles, Seddrick Berry, C.J. Butler and Aaron Cooper.
