Two events are being hosted in June by the Senior Citizens Center — one specifically for senior citizens and another for domino players of all ages.

The Senior Citizens’ Summer Olympic Games will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Church of the Nazarene, 1300 South League St. Among the events planned are Nerf javelin, wheelchair and scooter races, a corn hole competition, washer pitching, horseshoes and 1K race.

Game participants will receive a free t-shirt thanks to generous community sponsors and snacks. Medals will be awarded to winners. All senior citizens are welcome to participate.

To register, contact Karon Weatherman at the Senior Citizens Center, 150 Martin Luther King Jr. or 903-885-1661.

A Summer 42 Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Senior Citizens Center.

A special discounted rate of $10 per person is offered for individuals who register no later than June 20. After June 20, the registration fee will be $25 per team.

To register for the 42-tourney, mail participants’ names and information, along with a check payable for the correct amount to Senior Citizens Center, 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482, or stop by and drop it off.

Participants should plan to bring their own table to the June 28 tournament.

For more information about the 42 tourney, call Weatherman at 903-885-1661.
