Anyone who is out of school and still needs to take the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills exit level retest and plans to do so in Sulphur Springs this summer has until May 23 to register for the July test.
TAKS exit level tests English language arts test will be administered on July 7, mathematics on July 8, science on July 9 and social studies on July 10.
Registration opened April 28 and will continue through 5 p.m. May 23 online at http://www.TexasAssessment.com/taksoos for these “out-of-school” TAKS examinees, including former Texas Assessment of Academic Skills and TEAMS testers.
“Sulphur Springs Independent School District wants to make sure we notify the out-of-school students of the requirement to preregister by May 23 for the July 2014 administration of the TAKS exit level retest. Current Sulphur Springs High School students do not need to register,” SSISD Director of Human Resources and Communications Rusty Harden noted in a press release Wednesday.
Since the TAAS tests are no longer being administered, former TAAS examinees, including former TEAMS examinees, will take the appropriate part of the TAKS exit level English language arts and/or mathematics test. TAKS scores will be matched to the appropriate TAAS passing standard.
Former TAAS examinees will be administered the TAKS English language arts writing test July 7, math July 8 and English language arts readin July 9.
On the test day, examinees should arrive at Sulphur Springs High School 30 minutes before the designated testing time. A picture identification such as a driver's license, Department of Public Safety-issued identification card, military ID, school ID or resident alien card must be presented in order to take the test.
All tests will begin at 8 a.m. sharp on the designated test day. Make-up testing is not available for this testing cycle.
