James A. (Jim) Griffin II, age 64, of Klondike, Texas, passed away May 1, 2014, in Dallas, Texas. He was born Dec. 11, 1949, in Deport, Texas, to James Allen and Bessie Lee (Lake) Griffin.
Jim was a technician with the Natural Resource Conservation Service. He was a member of the Crimson River Cowboy Church in Cooper, Texas.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Judy Kay (Allen) Griffin of Klondike, Texas; mother Bessie Lee Griffin of Klondike, Texas; daughters Shelly Slaughter and husband, Burt, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Jennifer Beers and husband, Shane, of Forney, Texas, Julia Crouch and husband, Sean, of Klondike, Texas, and Shannon Wilson and husband Joseph of Tira, Texas; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Edward Michael Griffin and wife, Scottie, of Sulphur Springs, Texas; mother-in-law Clydie Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Griffin; and father-in-law, Charles Noel Allen.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Crimson River Cowboy Church, 248 FM 2716, Cooper, Texas 75432. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church.
