4-H planning carnival, rummage sale
Hopkins County 4-H Club films a video Tuesday at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension building to secure additional sponsorship to their 2014 summer trip to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In order to raise money for the trip, 4-H will be hosting a carnival May 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Celebration Plaza during Market on the Square. The carnival will feature a barrel train ride, ring toss, bean bag toss, “Kiss the Pig”, petting zoo, fishing game, duck pond, face painting and concessions. Also on May 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Texas A&M Agrilife extension building will host a rummage sale on behalf of the 4-H Club. Currently the club has raised $3,000 for the trip with a goal of $9,000 to pay for hotels, gas and food during the trip.
