Allen Frizzell, country artist and brother of stars Lefty and David Frizzell, will be in concert with Psalms 100 at Reed’s Entertainment on Saturday, May 3. Joining them will be Gigi and Randy Burgess.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Frizzell was born into a family rich in country music tradition. Since the early 1950s the Frizzell brothers have been prominent on the music charts as artist and songwriters, having tunes covered by George Jones, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley and Jewel.
His eldest brother, Lefty, was a prolific singer and songwriter hall of famer. Brother David was nominated for a Grammy and won ACM and CMA awards.
Frizell started out on his musical journey at the age of 19 with David, singing and playing the guitar.
He later joined up with Lefty for a brief tour.
After touring with his brothers, Frizzell realized he wanted to do gospel music.
He assembled a band and opened for Dottie West who, impressed with his talent, insisted that he move to Nashville and open for her on a permanent basis. Nashville has been Allen’s home more than years.
Frizzell appeared on TV programs, including “Johnny Carson,” “That Nashville Music,” “Nashville Now,” “Hee Haw,”  Don Kirshner’s “You Can Be A Star” (as celebrity judge), “New Country” appearing with Keith Whitley, “Crook & Chase,” “Country Sportsman” and “Music City Tonight.”
Friszell now celebrates success in Christian country music and country gospel. He has written several number one songs since releasing his first Christian Country CD in 2007.
He has been featured in magazines like Singing News, Christian Voice and Power Source.
A self-penned song written about his dad and heavenly father, titled “A Man of His Word,” made it into the top five on the Christian Voice Southern Gospel Music charts.
The song also made it to number one on the Christian country music charts.
His “I Believe” charted in the number one spot in January’s “Christian Voice” in 2013.
Reed’s Entertainment is located at 421 E. Industrial, Suite 215, Sulphur Springs. Call 972-768-9381 for more information or visit reeds-entertainment.com.
