Sulphur Springs ISD ripped a page out of the history books, replacing it with their 2014 version.

According to Director of Bands Charles McCauley, “History was made when all five SSISD bands – SSHS Symphonic Band, SSHS Concert Band, SSMS Honors Band, SSMS Symphonic Band and SSMS Concert Band – earned across the board first division ratings at UIL Concert Contests, held April 10 in Mount Pleasant for high school bands and in Texarkana on April 15 and April 16 for middle school bands.
“We are the only school in UIL Region IV to take five bands to UIL competition,” McCauley advised. “Two high school and three middle school bands earned a total of 15 first division ratings that were given to the SSISD bands in the concert competition.”
Each band is rated by a panel of three judges, totalling 15 first division ratings.
