Saltillo FCCLA students win a dozen awards

Saltillo Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Chapter came home from the state conference last weekend with a dozen awards in Family and Consumer Sciences Assessments.

The four students earning gold honors included Katlyn Gurley, Paula Boekhorst, Jacie Thompson and Jordyn Kearne.

Six Saltillo students earned silver at the state conference. They included BreAnna Reynolds, Kendall Bain, Rainie English, Kaili Carr, Ana Gallegos and Kortne Wilson.

Monika Wartenbee and Destiny Welch each earned bronze honors.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national career and technical student organization that provides personal growth, leadership development and career preparation opportunities for students in family and consumer sciences education.

The FCCLA State Leadership Conference took place Apri 10-12 at the American Bank Center, Omni Hotel, Holiday Inn and Emerald Beach Hotel in Corpus Christi. It featured three days of leadrship opportunities for members and advisors as well as sessions featuring motivational speakers. This year’s theme is “FCCLA: A World of Opportunities.”
