Como-Pickton athletes recently competing in track action with several female athletes qualifying for area action.


    Shelby Holder was a third place finisher in the 100-meter run for an area berth and will be an alterate after taking fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash.
    Taylor Williams will also be in area action after taking second in the 100-meter hurdles; Kailee Williams was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the triple jump; Kellie Taylor was fourth in the 3,200-meter run.
    Also earning alternate slots were: Erika Flowers, fifth in shot put and Shelby Holder, fifth in pole vault.
    Other finishers include: Britni Bearden, sixth, 400-meter dash; Mikayla Stone, sixth, 800-meter run; Williams, seventh place, 300-meter hurdles; Rayla Williams, sixth place, triple jump; Williams, seventh place, high jump; 4x400 relay, sixth, team of Stone, Bearden, Williams and Rayla Petty.
    In JV girls action —Karacole Ponter was third in shot put; Grace Pennington was fourth; in the discus, Ponder was fourth and Pennington took eight.
    Area action will be Wednesday in Commerce.
    In other recent competition involving Como-Pickton, the junior varsity boys took 71 points taking fourth place.
    Results include:
    100-meter dash — 1. Ray Don Swaim. 11.65.
    200-meter run — 3. Blake Neal, 26.27.
    400-meter run — 6. Cody Williams, 60.00.
    1,600-meter run — 3. Jesus Gutierrez, 5:39.27.
    3,200-meter run — 2. Jesus Gutierrez, 12:36.96.
    300-meter hurdles — 4. Joel Palmer, 46.52.
    Shot put — 3. Zach Robinson, 35-11.
    Discus — 1. John Collins, 101-8.
    4x100-meter relay — 4.  52.64, team of Frankie Murillo, John Collins, Louis Lopez and Ray Don Swaim, 52.64.
    54x200-meter relay — 5. 1:51.02, team of Louis Lopez, Zach Robinson, Dante Hall and Ray Don Swaim.
    4x400-meter relay — 4. 4:07.65, team of Joel Palmer, Blake Neal, Dante Hall and Tyler Kearns.
