With springtime right around the corner, it is time to grab your buddies, pull your sticks (golf clubs for those of you who don’t play golf) out of the attic or trunk, and come out for a great day of golf, fellowship and prizes! We will have tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs Country Club! To register your team, sponsor a contest or hole, or both, please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515! If you are a Chamber member and do not receive an e-mail from me or a form in the mail, next week, please let me know. We are still trying, diligently, to get all of our records up-to-date!

www.hopcal.org: Check it out! Find out what’s going on in Hopkins County
If you haven’t visited the site lately…go check it out! The calendar is filling up very quickly, with TONS of activities going on in the county!

Junior Market Show Feb. 26th-Feb 28th at the Civic Center
Hopefully you have already made plans to attend the Livestock Show tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at the Civic Center. It is very important that we, as a community, support the kids’ efforts and help them to learn that good ol’ fashioned hard work and pride of accomplishment are still worth the effort. For more information, please contact Eddie Lampp at 903-439-5398.

Saturday, February 28th DEADLINE: SS Boys Baseball and Girls Softball
This is the last weekend to sign up your son or daughter to play baseball or softball. Make sure you get your forms turned in to Fieldhouse Sports, by close of business, this Saturday!

Sulphur Springs Gymnastics to Host State Qualifier
America the Beautiful Invitational is the name of the gymnastics competition that will be held at the Sulphur Springs Gymnastics Center from February 28th-March 1st. Why is it called that, you may ask? Not only is it a very important meet for the hundreds of gymnasts that will attend, but it will also be a tribute to a fallen soldier, Allen Mosteiro who was killed in Iraq. He was the brother to one of the head coaches at the Gymnastics Center. So, to honor all of our current and former members of the American Armed Forces, all active duty military and their families will be given free admittance to the competition. For more information, call 903-438-0748!

Ribbon Cutting for Hopkins House
Join us for the ribbon cutting at Hopkins House, 890 Camp Street, on March 10th at noon. So stop by on your lunch hour and tour the facility and see all of the changes going on at Hopkins House!

Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening
Fidelity Express will have the grand opening of their new, beautiful facility on Thursday, March 12th, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. with the Ribbon Cutting at 2 p.m. Their new building is located at 1301 Main St., so please make a point to attend and congratulate them on their grand opening!

Are our Legislators Taking Care of Hopkins County?
I am certain they are, but if you would like to make an impact in Austin on behalf of Hopkins County, then make plans to travel to Austin for Hopkins County Day. We will be cooking Hopkins County Stew on the grounds (one street over from the Capitol) and visiting with all of the important folks in Austin that are making decisions on our behalf. We are looking to go the first week in April. If you are interested in attending, please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515. We are looking for business leaders who want to make an impact in Austin to assure that the bills that will help Hopkins County businesses, are being focused on. It is very important that our representatives know what we believe is important for our county!
