    EDGEWOOD — The Miller Grove track teams did well in the District 23-1A meet held here recently.
    The Hornets finished as district champions.


    3,200-meter run — 1. Logan Miller, 10:49; 2. Riley Mitchell, 11:05; 3. William Clinton, 11:06.
    800-meter run — 1. Nathan George, 2:04; 2. Logan Miller, 2:13; 4. Brennan Green, 2:19.
    1,600-meter run — 1. Nathan George, 4:53; 2. Riley Mitchell, 5:15; 3.William Clinton, 5:16.
    400-meter run — 2. Trey Lester, 58.8; 3. Brennan Green, 59.02; 4. Aaron Smith, 1:03.
   4x400 relay — 1. 3:49 , team of Lester, Green, Miller, George.
    Triple jump —2. Nathan George, 41-4 1/2; 4. Logan Miller, 34-11 1/2.
    Discus — 2. Weston House, 95-1 1/2.
    Shot — 1. Patrick Covington, 40-6; 3. Weston House, 34-11.
    The Lady Hornets finished second, results include:
    Triple jump — 1. Alaina Strang, 29-3; 2. Alma DelCastillo. 28-9 1/2; 3. Aleigh Bessonett, 27-8/
    3.200-meter run — 1. Aleigh Bessonett, 13:38; 3. Alex Zeigler,  15:09.
    800-meter run — 1.Alma DelCastillo, 2:43; 3. Candace Earp, 2:59; 4. Kayla Ford, 3:23.
    1,600-meter run — 1. Aleigh Bessonett, 6:11.
    100-meter run — 2. Alaina Strang, 13.41.
    4x400 relay— 1, 4:51 team of Earp, DelCastillo, Bessonett, Strang.
    200-meter run — 2. Alaina Strang 29.44.
    400-meter run — 1. Candace Earp 1:10; 2.   DelCastillo 1:13.
    “The kids really wanted to win a district title,” said Gary Billingsley, Miller Grove head coach. “It would give us a sweep of cross country, basketball, track and golf. The girls competed well, we just came up a little short. All of the kids who competed have worked hard this spring.”
