Wildcats, Lady Cats in track action Saturday

The storms are gone and good weather is predicted Saturday for track action in Longview at Spring Hill.
    The Lady Cats and Wildcats are ready to run after having their last meet cancelled by spring showers and lightning.

    The meet is a good measuring stick for Sulphur Springs athletes.
    They will get to see three teams they will compete against next week in district.
    Sulphur Springs will be one of the teams in the field Saturday at the Bill Secord Relays in Spring Hill.
    Others teams participating at the meet are Spring Hill, Kilgore, Gilmer, Daingerfield, New Diana, Atlanta, Mount Pleasant,  Pine Tree, Marshall, Jacksonville, Paris, Pittsburg, Shelbyville, Tatum, Hallsville (girls only), and East Texas Charter (JV only).
      The meet will have divisions for junior varsity boys, varsity boys and girls.
    The 3,200-meter race will be held at 8 a.m.
    The running prelims begin at 8:45 a.m. which include the 100-meter/110-meter hurdles,  100-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash.
    The 800-meter run, 1,600-meter race will be run as finals with no prelims.
     Field events start at 11 a.m.
    The running finals will begin at approximately 4 p.m.
