Sulphur Springs High School Saturday will be offering several free services as well as a peek inside the career and technology classes, along with the annual horticulture plant sale.
The Career and Technology Education Extravaganza will be from 8 a.m. to noon at SSHS.
“This event will incorporate the annual horticulture plant sale, but offer a variety of new services and products from departments such as family and consumer sciences as well as health science technology and auto tech,” said Sulphur Springs animal science teacher Amber Norris. “Through this opportunity the community will be able to receive services or products that demonstrate vocational skills in which our students have become proficient.”
The auto technology department will be offering free auto inspection checks for brakes, belts and hoses, while the agriculture mechanics department offers a shuttle service.
The health science technology department will offer free blood pressure checks during the extravaganza.
Got a dog that needs dipping? The animal science department will get extra practice while offering this community service to the community free during the event.
A few other departments will be selling their products and services.
The horticulture department will be offering a variety of bedding plants, ferns and hanging baskets for a nominal fee. To compliment those offerings, the ag mechanics department will also be selling plant hangers.
Need a little pick-me-up or a treat? The Family and Consumer Science Department will be selling baked goods for the occasion.
