 NH Panthers
beat Yantis, 11-1
    YANTIS — The North Hopkins Panthers stayed undefeated in district baseball action with a 13-1 win at Yantis Tuesday.


     The Panthers pounded out 10 hits in the contest led by Kevin Meza, Jessie Williams, Austin Oldham and Javier Rojo who each had two hits.
    Williams powered a home run and a double knocking in four runs.
    Silas Whaley gained the victory on the mound striking out five and giving up just four hits to the Owls.
    The Panthers built up a 7-1 lead after four innings and then hammered the Owls for six runs inn the top of the fifth, highlighted by Williams second round-tripper of the year.
    The Panthers have won  six games by the 10-run mercy-rule win in district play and increase their 17-A record to 8-0.
    North Hopkins is now 9-3 on the season.

Baseball games
cancelled
with N. Lamar
    North Lamar has cancelled upcoming baseball games.
    The contests were originally set for Saturday at Eagle Stadium against the Sulphur Springs junior varsity and ninth grade.
    No home baseball games will be held Saturday.
