Dustin and Natalie Weir visited Robert, Yvonne, and Wesley Weir from Sunday through Wednesday. Dacy, Elise and Eli Campbell came on Saturday and that night they went to a church “fun night” at First Assembly of God in Cooper. Their friends, Mallory, Daniel, Desirea and Denise Velazquez attended, also. Yvonne shared, “Elise sang, Wesley danced, and Daniel recited the ABC's!” She also reported that they got 2 inches of rain. We are thankful that we got a lot of much needed rain, too!

I'm happy to have some news from former Tira residents. Doug and Gae Lou (Chapman) Haley hosted a party at their home in Crowley for their son, David, who was home for a visit from the Netherlands. Others attending included Betty Sue (Chapman) and her son, Greg Johnson; Jerry and June (Chapman) Vessel; Pete and Dorreice (Horn) Shuptrine; Reuben and Jan (Haley) Escabedo and their son, Sean; and Peter Heiz. Dorreice comments that they had “delicious food and great fun!”

Nancy and Lane-Allton Potts spent the weekend in Dallas along with Barbara Davis, Bobbie Underwood and Patty Vaden. They enjoyed a day downtown at the Reunion Tower, eating and shopping. Also, they were able to stop by Irving and have a nice visit with their uncle, Kenneth Vaden.

Chip and I took our grandchildren, Morgan, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin, for a short spring break trip last week. We spent Wednesday through Saturday in Arkansas at Wyndham's Fairfield Bay Resort. We hiked on the rocks and hills on the resort property, and then went to the beautiful Blanchard Springs Caverns near Mountain View on Thursday. On Friday, we took a boat ride from the resort marina to Sugar Loaf Mountain on an island in Greer's Ferry Lake. Chip and the kids enjoyed climbing 540-feet to the top of the mountain, and even playing in some snow that remained there. We also enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and the kids enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and on the playground. We went to the fish hatchery in Heber Springs on Saturday morning, and then stopped in Searcy to visit with our niece, Kimberly (Vaughn) Williams, and her family before returning home that evening. We were thankful for our other grandson, Landon Joslin, taking care of things while we were gone.

I always need and appreciate input from my friends to help keep me informed of news in our community.
