Varsity soccer action will be fierce this week the final week of the regular season for boys and girls involved in 19-4A action.
    The Wildcats (12-6-6) play in Paris against North Lamar Tuesday in a key game in the soccer standings.

    The boys junior varsity game will start at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:15 p.m.
    The game with North Lamar will settle the standings with Sulphur Springs currently in second place in district.
    The Wildcats lost 1-0 at home to North Lamar in earlier action.
    “We hope to do the same things we did in the first game, but put the ball in the back of the net this time,” said Andy Holt, Sulphur Springs head boys soccer coach. “If we win, we will finish in second. If something else happens then Princeton will have to lose their last game for us to get second. Paris is locked in first and NL is locked in fourth.”
    The Lady Cats close out home action Thursday also against North Lamar. The JV game will open action, then the Sulphur Springs senior Lady Cats will be honored prior the the 7:15 p.m. start of the varsity game.
    The Sulphur Springs JV won 7-0 Monday at home vs. Sherman. Blanca Torres and Marline Martinez had two goals each. Scoring one apiece were - Faith Singleton, Cindy Arellano and Allie York. Assists - Ciara Rico and Torres, two each; Payton Pierce and Summer Brooks, one each. Abbie Hale and Mandy Eckhart had two saves each.
