A funeral service for Martha Lou Clemmons, 87, of Denton, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Tapp Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Hall officiating.
Interment will follow in City Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Tapp Funeral Home.
Martha Lou Clemmons died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Sterling House in Denton.
She was born in Peerless on May 20, 1926, the daughter of Samuel and Willie Christian Payne.
She married Ray Clemmons. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Clemmons was a retired inspector for Texas Instruments and was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons Bill Hill and wife, Sylvia, of Little Elm and Don Hill and wife, Susan, of Runaway Bay; sister Wilma Thompson of Sulphur Springs; brothers Edgar Lee Payne of Sulphur Springs and Samuel Payne of Hawkins; grandchildren Heath Hill, Alisha Jarillo, David Hill, Jonathan Hill and Charlene Lee; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tapp Funeral Home.
