Rhema Jo Cannaday Kesler, 79, of Tyler went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.
She was born to the late Leldon and Ruth Cannaday on March 20, 1934, near Saltillo.
Rhema Cannaday graduated from Saltillo High School and earned her degree at East Texas State College, where she met Hershel Kesler. They were married in 1952.
She was a teacher with Raymondville ISD for many years of her life before advancing in her career to become an educational diagnostician with the Wil-Cam Coop until her retirement.
Rhema is survived by her brother, Pat Cannaday; and her son, Tim Kesler, both of Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Hershel Kesler; daughter Cathy; and brother Jerry Cannaday.
Graveside services for Rhema Jo Cannaday Kelser will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Purley Cemetery.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at the Waterton Inn who have made her last few years a blessing, as well as the staff at Hospice of East Texas for keeping her comfortable in her last days.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home of Mount Vernon.
