Oh, my! What a winter we have had. We have had more ups and downs than the Wright brothers at Kitty Hawk! I think we have had spring three times already and it’s not even spring yet. But hey … it’s almost here to stay!

We have a busy month planned for the March at Cooper Lake State Park. Even with the lake level being low there are lots of things to do.

Spring Break is coming and the camping season for most will begin. Even with the lake level being low there is still lots to do. As you will notice on the schedule there will be something happening starting March 8 every day (except Monday and Tuesday) during Spring Break.

Whatever you enjoy doing in the great outdoors we have a program for it and it’s happening over Spring Break.

Don’t want to camp? No problem! Come out for the programs or just to spend the day.

Program will include Dutch oven cooking, knot tying, stargazing, geocaching, birds, hiking, campfire building, and believe it or not fishing. (At a whisper…“I know where the fish are hiding!”)

Kids will be able to earn their Jr. Ranger Certificate. Ask at the desk when you check in.

For you birders, there have been several migratory birds sited which indicates that there are more to come in the very near future.

Don’t let the lack of water hold you back. Come on out and  enjoy nature at its best.
