I think everyone had the same idea as me on Saturday. I was in Sulphur Springs and the weather was so nice that I thought I would go wash my truck. I’m pretty sure that about 99 percent of Sulphur Springs was at the car wash that day. Every car wash I passed was packed full of vehicles, but I went ahead and washed mine too; maybe it will stay clean for a few days now.

Congratulations to the Miller Grove Fighting Hornets! Friday night they played Fannindel in Commerce and took home the title of Area Champs. The stands were packed with MG fans to support the boys in this playoff game. Final score was Miller Grove 51 and Fannindel 33. Their next stop was at Princeton HS where they played Bellevue at 7 p.m. Each quarter was action-packed as one team would lead by a point or two and then the other team would advance. The last quarter of the game our boys took a lead which ended up winning the battle against Bellevue. Final score was MG 69 and Bellevue 61. Now, on the the Regional Semi-finals!

Two young people with Miller Grove connections won top honors in the swine portion of the Northeast Texas Livestock Association stock show which was held at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. Canyon Smith won grand champion swine and Lacey Taylor won reserve grand champion.
